The COVID-19 situation has significantly improved in the Outaouais. The number of active cases fell below the 100 mark in Gatineau, reaching 85 cases as of June 6.
The situation is still more or less the same in the Pontiac with 15 cases, due among other things to cases related to Sieur-de-Coulonge high school. According to the website of the Centre de services scolaire des Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais, cases were confirmed on June 4, 5 and 6. The Sieur-de-Coulonge high school has also mentioned that as a preventive measure, group classes are closed. Overall, however, there was no significant increase in cases last week, with the number of cases standing at 15.
For the entire Outaouais region, the number of hospitalizations was 3, including one in intensive care. Data from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, is available here.
