Outrage regarding the six month closure of the obstetrics wing of the Pontiac Community hospital was once again demonstrated over the weekend, during a protest held by the group Voix du Pontiac – Pontiac Voice.

Contrary to what other politicians have commented recently, the Mayor of Campbell’s Bay, Maurice Beauregard, said that the current closure in obstetrics issued by the CISSS de l’Outaouais could have been avoided.

Maurice Beauregard will be part of a committee created last Wednesday, with representation of both the CISSS de l’Outaouais and the MRC Pontiac, as a way to find progressive solutions to the current nursing staff shortages at the Pontiac hospital.

An estimated 200 people were in attendance for the Protest held at the Shawville Hospital.
