Severe weather expected for the region

12 February 2019 à 12:00 am

A severe weather warning has been issued for many parts of Quebec including the Pontiac. An estimated 20 to 40 centimetres of snow is expected to fall in the Pontiac and surrounding regions, due to a low pressure system from the American Midwest intensifying over the Great Lakes. The snow storm will begin over the Outaouais and Montreal this afternoon and will then spread northward and eastward. Along with the snow, the storm will be accompanied by strong winds which will produce extensive blowing snow reducing visibilities to near zero.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Please continue to monitor the alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
