Quebec municipalities are invited to apply for the opportunity to obtain one of the 21 “I work for my city” internship scholarships worth $ 3,000, offered by the Relève municipale committee. A committee consisting mainly of l’Association des directeurs généraux des municipalités du Québec (ADGMQ), of the Corporation des officiers municipaux agréés du Québec (COMAQ) and of the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ). For the first time this year, two scholarships will be awarded for the hiring college interns.

The “I work for my city” scholarships are intended to cover part of the expenses incurred by hiring a trainee and thus encourage municipalities to call on the Relève. The purpose of this initiative is to promote the municipal sector, the next generation and to support the municipalities in their internship offer. Since 2012, 89 municipalities and MRC’s have funded 109 internship projects with awards totalling $ 330,000.

Municipalities wishing to apply must complete the form and send it to Nancie Mayer at nmayer@umq.qc.ca. The details of eligibility requirements for trainees and municipalities are described in the form available on the UMQ website. The deadline for submitting applications is March 15th, 2019 at 5 pm.
