Members of the Caisse populaire Desjardins Chapeau were invited to participate in its annual general meeting last Monday.

There was talk of the Caisse populaire Desjardins Chapeau consolidation project with the Caisse Populaire Fort-Coulonge. The bank said it wanted to explore all possibilities to explore ways to allow members to offer more.

In the press release issued by the bank, states that the results year 2017 have prompted the financial institution to make careful decisions to maintain its quality of services. This decision is said to be based on serious thought, the objective of which is to maintain a sound and prudent management of the bank.

This year, two positions were to be filled on the Board of Directors and one position on the Supervisory Board. Mr. André Vaillancourt and Mr. Albert Collin were elected to the Board of Directors and Mme. Lise Vaillancourt to the Supervisory Board

The Caisse populaire Desjardins Chapeau has total assets of $ 40.5 million and the bank has some 1,522 members. In 2017, the bank continued its commitment to the community by giving nearly $ 9,000 to support activities and organizations in the region, such as: renovating the church, awarding scholarships (école Dr. Wilbert Keon School and École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge), Young at Heart, Gatineau Health Foundation, My Finances, mes choix®, Haut-Pontiac Sports Complex, Island Fest, Sheenboro Chichester Golf Tournament, Centraide Outaouais, the volunteer firefighters of Chichester and Sheenboro, the Cégep de l’Outaouais and the Foundation of the Université du Québec en Outaouais.
