As part of Earth Day at École Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, several teachers put together several special assignments for their students. Grade 1 teacher Jennifer Gravel asked the students to do some DIY on the subject of the Earth. The students had to indicate through a special gesture they are ready to help protect the earth.

Students in the Grade 5 Primary Parliament offered to do a draw, with the teachers asking the students to have a 0 waste week for their boxed lunches. To do this, students received a ballot for the draw for everyday without waste. In addition, several teachers had taken the initiative to reuse milk cartons by turning them into flower pots for Mother’s Day. Other green themed projects included making hats from recycled materials, making planters with bottles, and creating feeders from recycled materials.
