Many local Pontiac merchants have taken advantage of the holiday season to promote themselves in various Christmas markets, some of which have even traveled outside of the Pontiac to showcase their products; in urban areas of the Outaouais and in Ottawa. This is the case for Daniel Sempels, of miellerie Sempels, a honey producer in the Quyon sector of the municipality of Pontiac.

This Saturday, December 7th, miellerie Sempels will be at the Wakefield Christmas Market and will also appear at the Quail Christmas Fair in Chelsea, as well as at the Promenades de Gatineau Christmas Market until December 24th.

For Pine Lodge in Bristol, the co-owner Jody Rolland explained what the holiday season looks like for their business and what she and her husband particularly appreciate about participating in various markets.

In the coming weeks, other Pontiac businesses will participate in markets throughout the region and will travel to urban areas to sell their products, including the Domaine de Pontiac Village (Quyon), the Herboristerie La Fée des Bois (Clarendon), the Alpagas de Willow Lane (Bristol), the Coronation Hall Cidery (Bristol) et the potter, ceramic artist Clément Hoeck (Campbell’s Bay).
