Pontiac Journal open Letter: Une Picsine; Vraiment OUI! – Jane Toller

In the latest edition of the Pontiac Journal, the warden of MRC, Jane Toller responded to an open letter, in an earlier edition of the Journal, from Jean-Pierre Landry, a councilman and resident of the municipality of Campbell’s Bay. The letter was a critic of the pool project saying there was a lack of ethics and transparency in the handling this file.

Jane Toller replied that there are “three reasons why Fort-Coulonge was chosen [for the installation of a swimming pool]: It in the center between Rapides-des-Joachims and Bristol; Fort-Coulonge is one of the five poorest municipalities; and twenty-six percent of the population remains within walking distance. She adds that “the pool will be administered by a non-profit board” and that “the Pontiac needs facilities to attract people and improve the quality of life.”

The warden’s text can be found on page 5 of the most recent edition of the Journal du Pontiac. In recent weeks, Jane Toller has published open letters and conducted interviews on the importance of setting up a swimming pool project in the Pontiac.
