CHIP possède une licence de langue française au CRTC et assure par son mandat la promotion de la dualité linguistique au sein du territoire du Pontiac ainsi que celle de la vallée de la Gatineau et du comté de Renfrew, en Ontario.

La station de radio diffuse sur la fréquence du 101,9 sur la bande FM avec un émetteur d’une puissance de 10 KW, lui permettant de diffuser sur un grand territoire.

Afin de servir tous les gens de sa communauté, CHIP FM offre à ses auditeurs, une programmation diversifiée. L’un des buts principaux de la station est de bien informer la communauté avec des nouvelles locales et régionales qui ne sont pas nécessairement diffusées par d’autres médias régionaux. L’équipe entière de la station de radio travaille ardemment afin de faire de sa programmation, une qui reflète bien le portrait culturel, économique, politique, éducationnel et social de sa région”

En tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif, les revenus annuels de CHIP FM sont constitués; d’une subvention provenant du gouvernant provincial, des bingos hebdomadaires, radiothon annuel, ventre de publicités radio, frais d’adhésions ainsi que dons.

CHIP FM aussi connut sous le nom Radio Communautaire de Pontiac a été enregistrée en tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif en juin 1978. La première diffusion en ondes a eut lieu le 1er mars 1981.

From September 1 to 4, police officers of the Sûreté du Québec carried out numerous operations to ensure the safety of off everyone on the roadways in all regions of Québec during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Despite awareness-raising campaigns, prior to this long weekend, police officers reported over 5,000 violations of the Highway Safety Code province wide, including speeding, failure to wear seat belts, and the use of a cell phone while driving. In addition, they arrested 90 people for impaired driving. Also, a fatal collision occurred during this period.

The Sûreté du Québec reminds the public that the risk of collisions increases exponentially while speeding. They encourage every road user to reduce their speed, respect the road signs and laws and to be vigilant and plan their route ahead of time.

CREDDO asks citizens to complete an environmental survey

CREDDO, the Regional Council for the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Outaouais and environmental organizations in the Outaouais launched a survey inviting residents of the Outaouais to comment on environmental issues, in a confidential manner.

The results of the survey will be passed on to candidates running for municipal elections and should be put forward during the 2017 municipal election campaign.

Responses will be accepted until September 22 at midnight.

Start of the new radio programming 2017 - 2018 of CHIP 101,9

Today is the beginning of the 2017 - 2018 broadcasting season at CHIP 101.9. Regular broadcasts are back. Broadcasts like À l’aube de la 148 will accompany you from 5:30. Several new features will also be available to listeners such as talks with local people of interest; conversations with those from the community for a 50 minutes interview. For the first program, CHIP 101.9 welcomes Madeleine Vallières, President of the Caisse populaire Desjardins de Fort-Coulonge.

It should also be noted that listeners are invited to learn more about Pontiac’s new community radio programming during the barbecue on Thursday, September 21, at the station’s office is located at 138 rue principal in Fort-Coulonge at noon.

Bouffe Pontiac Ball Tournament

For the 3rd consecutive year, a softball tournament will be held during the weekend of September 29 / 30 and October 1 at Amyotte Park in Mansfield.

Élise Jolin in collaboration with Bouffe Pontiac and a team of volunteers are organizing this softball tournament to support Bouffe Pontiac. In a statement last week, Bouffe Pontiac said that over the years, the tournament has become the biggest annual tournament, attracting teams from neighboring municipalities, Gatineau, Ottawa and Pembroke.

The funds raised will be used to provide a healthy source of food for the families in need of the Pontiac MRC.

Bouffe Pontiac is very proud that Pontiac MNA André Fortin has agreed to be the honorary president of the tournament. André Fortin will pitch the first ball of the tournament, accompanied by the organizers of the tournament and some municipal officials at the official opening of the tournament on Friday, September 29 at 6 pm at Parc Amyotte.

Members from the Outaouais were very active during the Parti Québécois National Congress

Following the Parti Québécois National Congress held last week, the Outaouais Chapter issued a communiqué mentioning that some forty Outaouais delegates, some of whom from to the Pontiac Party chapter, been very active and particularly effective in workshops and plenary sessions. “Several proposals have been adopted reflecting major issues in our region,” according to Robert Drapeau, regional president of the Parti Québécois.

Among other things, they pointed out that the members tried to make the Outaouais recognized as a strategic region in Quebec, as a border region and as a gateway to Quebec, to safeguard the French character of the Outaouais, particularly through the francization of courses at the Gatineau School of Medicine in 2020, to secure significant investments in the health sector and at the level of college and university education, in order to counter our dependence on services in Ontario, diversify the economy and put an end to the interregional imbalance affecting the Outaouais for decades.
