Outaouais : No new admission in CHSLDs

10 April 2020 à 12:00 am

The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais has decided to suspend all new admissions of residents in CHSLDs for an indefinite time.

The establishment hopes to limit the spread of COVID-19, even in centers where no case has been confirmed yet. Remember that the elderly are considered a vulnerable population to the new coronavirus.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais also set up “hot zones” in its residences and proceeded to the reorganization of the staff in the last days.

Two residents of the CHSLD de la Petite-Nation have COVID-19
The CISSS de l’Outaouais announced that two residents of the CHSLD de la Petite-Nation have been tested positive for COVID-19. These two individuals are currently in isolation in the hot zone of the CHSLD and strict protective measures have been put in place to protect other residents and employees. Every precaution is being taken to avoid further cases of COVID-19 at the CHSLD de la Petite-Nation. The CISSS added that all residents and employees will be screened this Friday in order to have a clear picture of the situation in this nursing home. To date, no employee of the CHSLD de la Petite-Nation has tested positive for COVID-19.
