During this time, in the Outaouais-Laurentides, the Sûreté arrested 56 impaired drivers, which compares to 82 in 2018, and registered 2 fatal collisions, the same as in 2018.

Although the holiday season has ended, the Sûreté du Québec is reminding drivers that police operations to prevent impaired driving will continue throughout the year. As a reminder, patrol officers can stop any motorist in order to detect impaired driving. In addition, mandatory testing is in place, which allows police to obligate a driver to provide a roadside breath sample, whether or not they have been suspected of being impaired.
