According to information obtained by CHIP 101.9, Renfrew County voted unanimously last week to support the proposed National Park Project in the Lafontaine Islands, a project by Joe Kowalski, the owner of Wilderness Tour.

The mayors voted unanimously for another motion supporting this project at the MRC Pontiac meeting held last Monday.

The mayors also passed a resolution to have the new engineer, Kim Lesage who was recently hired with the MRC Pontiac, be a member of this committee, since the position was to be filled by the person holding the position of director of economic development, a position that has remained vacant ever since the departure of Émilie Chazelas.
