Municipality of Pontiac prepares for snowmelt

With the arrival of spring, many Quebec municipalities are preparing to face possible flooding by implementing measures in light of the spring melt. The Municipality of Pontiac, which is already reviewing its measures, reflect on the damage caused by the spring floods in 2017. Acting Deputy Director General of the Municipality of Pontiac Dominic Labrie, says that they have already held meetings to make sure that municipal workers and supplies such as sand begs are at the ready:

Last week, the Government of Quebec announced an investment of nearly $ 50 million as part of the implementation of an action plan to help municipalities better prepare for spring the floods. The 24-point plan, includes a measure imposing the mandatory creation of an emergency plan for all municipalities in the province, which according the Dominic Labrie the Municipality of Pontiac had created a few years prior:
