The Municipality of Pontiac has issued an update regarding flooding. The river level is expected to increase another 20 cm by Wednesday, according to the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board. The municipality is asking residents in affected areas to prepare accordingly. The distribution of sandbags will continue during the week for Bélisle, Bergeron, Waterfront, Dion, Frazer, Ruisseau, Saphir and Vieille Pompe areas. For sandbags, head to the Municipal Hall (2024 Highway148) between 8:30am and 4pm (check in at the reception). If the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board announces that the river’s threshold would reaches 60m, the municipality will extend the distribution to other areas.
