More than a week after the second incident involving him; still radio silence on the future of MP William Amos

8 June 2021 à 12:00 am

More than a week after the incident involving Pontiac MP William Amos, who once again found himself in an awkward position while being filmed, this time urinating into a coffee cup during a virtual meeting that he described in his press release as non-public in the House of Commons, neither the Pontiac Federal Liberal Association nor the Liberal Party of Canada have reacted until now.

William Amos, who is usually very active via social media, has not posted anything via his Facebook account since the incident. The most recent publication of this one dates back to May 27, during his visit to the Cantley veterinary clinic. This most recent Facebook post was, in all likelihood, released after the incident but before the press release was.

In the press release issued following the incident, the member for Pontiac said he was stepping down as parliamentary secretary and would seek the appropriate support, without specifying whether it was technical assistance or psychological. William Amos mentioned that he will continue to fulfill his role as an MP. Several people, including some entrepreneurs, confirmed to CHIP 101.9 that meetings or events that were to take place with William Amos have since been canceled. Contacted to find out what happened next, the Pontiac Federal Liberal Association has still not responded to CHIP 101.9.

After seeing his name go around the world about six weeks ago when he was pictured naked in front of his screen during a sitting in the House of Commons, Pontiac MP William Amos was surprised in urinating during another session last week. Once again, it has found itself at the center of one of the most shared stories on the planet and at the center of criticism from opposition parties. The most recent event is believed to have taken place during virtual parliamentary committee deliberations, most of which have taken place on Zoom, since the start of the pandemic.

In the first incident, government leader Pablo Rodriguez demanded an investigation into the leaked photo of William Amos naked to the media and government whip Mark Holland mentioned it was a lesson for the entire political class. This time, no explanation and details were released to the media and the citizens of the Pontiac.
