It is now official, the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) has announced that former journalist and editor-in-chief of LeDroit, Michel Gauthier, will be their candidate in the federal riding of Pontiac for the next election.

“I am proud to join the Erin O’Toole team, a team that listens to the needs of Canadians and citizens of the Outaouais. When the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, Pontiac and Collines de l’Outaouais MRCs call for high-speed Internet, that concerns me. I live this situation myself. When residents of the Plateau sector or the Limbour district in Gatineau wonder about the planning of public transport and the inter-shoreline link with Ottawa, or jobs in the public service, it concerns me. I went through the same situation. I want to put my experience and my dedication at the service of the citizens of Pontiac, ”declared Conservative candidate Michel Gauthier.

Questioned by CHIP 101.9 regarding his chances of being elected, Michel Gauthier relies on his great knowledge of all the communities in the territory and of the electorate of the riding of Pontiac, who in the past voted for different parties to represent the constituency in Ottawa.

No date has yet been announced for the possible holding of an election on the federal scene, but Michel Gauthier is counting on the coming weeks to disclose his program and visit the various communities in the riding of Pontiac. The French interview with Michel Gauthier is available here. An English interview should be available next week.
