Members of the Pontiac Liberal Association in Nova Scotia

Several members of the Pontiac Liberal Association, including MP William Amos, attended the Liberal National Convention held in Halifax, Nova Scotia from April 19-21.

The purpose of this event is to bring together thousands of members of the Liberal party from across Canada to hear keynote speakers and participate in training workshops on campaigning techniques, political discussions and the election of next National Council. Participants were able to take part in the policy discussions that will be part of the LPC’s election platform during the 2019 general election.

The policies debated at the conference, which are of interest to the Pontiac, included the following resolutions: ‘Becoming a world leader in sustainable health care’, ‘Supporting innovation in local food production ‘,’ Expanding telecommunication infrastructure in remote areas’, ‘Need to create stable and quality jobs’ and ‘ Aboriginal Health Care Auditor and Aboriginal Health Care Ombudsman ‘. The members of the riding of Pontiac were extremely pleased to be attending this national convention.
