Public consultations on strategic planning and the draft strategic vision statement for the Pontiac were held last Monday (October 5) in the municipality of Mansfield-et-Pontefract. The ten people who took part in this meeting insisted on different subjects. The importance of diversifying the region’s economy in the future was stressed by the participants.

This is also the point of view of the mayor of Mansfield, Gilles Dionne, who hopes that the Pontiac and his municipality will develop economic pillars such as the forestry industry, tourism but also other avenues such as the mining industry.

The MRC Pontiac is organizing a final online public consultation session on the draft strategic vision statement and the Vision 2030 plan this Thursday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate in this session can send an email to c.jones mrcpontiac.qc.ca to register.

The full French interview with Gilles Dionne is available here.
