On June 8th, 2018, the fifth annual unveiling of the Forces AVENIR 2018 regional laureates was held at the Hilton Lac-Leamy. A student from the Sieur-de-Coulonge High School, Marc Robert, was selected as regional winner for AVENIR Student perseverant.

In the press release, Marc is described as a committed student who has achieved his goals. With a life full of personal pitfalls, early in his studies Marc Robert started closing in on himself to the world around him, and began to develop anxiety. It took several years before he, with the support of the staff at Sieur-de-Coulonge High School, managed to emerge to take control of his life. Gradually, from day to day, from one session to another with a self-help group, he saw himself improve and his motivation increase. Becoming more assiduous, Marc has set himself the goal of completing high school and taking a program in carpentry. A member of the Ultimate Frisbee team, he also became the treasurer of the Lab finance, a school bank that funds various projects and helps students save money to participate in school activities.

Forces AVENIR is a program that aims to recognize, honor and promote student engagement in projects that contribute to the formation of aware, responsible, active and persevering citizens, both rooted in their community and who have an impact on the world.
