The Pontiac MRC held its second meeting of mayors for 2018 last night. The warden Jane Toller took the opportunity to unveil a list of eleven priorities for 2018, drawn up by the council of mayors. This list stems from a first annual “Lac-à-l’épaule” meeting held last January in Shawville.

The eleven priorities that have been selected are:
1. Internet and cell phone coverage
2. Increase in logging
3. Increase in agricultural holdings
4. Pontiac swimming pool
5. Improvement of road infrastructure
6. French-speaking CEGEP and trade school
7. Increasing composting and recycling
8. Improving the ATV trail network
9. Marketing Tourism
10. The Regional Industrial Park
11. Small Business Creation / Revitalization of the various Main Streets

Kim Cartier-Villeneuve, Mayor of Otter Lake and Deputy Warden, tells us a little more about the purpose behind the creation of such a list;

The next public meeting of mayors will be held on March 21st.
