MRC Pontiac: Highlights of the 2019 Estimates

The Pontiac MRC recently published a list highlighting its’ 2019 budget, which was adopted by the Regional Council of Mayors at the last month’s meeting. For 2019, this budget totaling $ 6.5 million will allow the MRC to increase its investment in economic development.

The Council’s budget choices include maintaining the municipalities’ share of $ 0.14 per $ 100 assessment, the efficiency of services and the support of Pontiac economic development projects. To consult the MRC Pontiac’s 2019 budget, click here..

The next regional Council meeting will be held this Wednesday in the Elsie-Gibbons room of the MRC in Campbell’s Bay at 6:30pm.

Highlights of the 2019 budget:
Total expenditure of the MRC Pontiac: $ 6.5 million
Subsidies and revenues from services: $ 3.3 million
• Administration $ 1,443,403
• Public Safety $ 194,053
• Rating $ 989,768
• Land Development and Development $ 2,214,900
• Economic Development Projects and Activities $ 800,000
• Transportation $ 484,336
• Renovation programs $ 31,500
• Financing costs, and capital expenditures $ 368,169
• Cost of Prefect election to universal vote (pro-rata over four years) $ 15,000
• Continued municipal share of $ 0.14 / $ 100
• Decrease in the number of monthly trips by elected representatives (from 2 to 1)
• Development of Pontiac promotional tools for investors residing outside the territory
