Even though it was a provincial government decision, when asked by CHIP 101.9, the federal Member of Parliament for the Pontiac, William Amos, was kind enough to voiced his opinion regarding the roadside checkpoints that have been set up in and across the Outaouais region, including in the Pontiac.

For William Amos, he said that he understands that extraordinary situations call for extraordinary measures, though he expressed his concern regarding the close ties between communities. However, Amos also expressed optimism in police showing a certain understanding.
