CHIP possède une licence de langue française au CRTC et assure par son mandat la promotion de la dualité linguistique au sein du territoire du Pontiac ainsi que celle de la vallée de la Gatineau et du comté de Renfrew, en Ontario.

La station de radio diffuse sur la fréquence du 101,9 sur la bande FM avec un émetteur d’une puissance de 10 KW, lui permettant de diffuser sur un grand territoire.

Afin de servir tous les gens de sa communauté, CHIP FM offre à ses auditeurs, une programmation diversifiée. L’un des buts principaux de la station est de bien informer la communauté avec des nouvelles locales et régionales qui ne sont pas nécessairement diffusées par d’autres médias régionaux. L’équipe entière de la station de radio travaille ardemment afin de faire de sa programmation, une qui reflète bien le portrait culturel, économique, politique, éducationnel et social de sa région”

En tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif, les revenus annuels de CHIP FM sont constitués; d’une subvention provenant du gouvernant provincial, des bingos hebdomadaires, radiothon annuel, ventre de publicités radio, frais d’adhésions ainsi que dons.

CHIP FM aussi connut sous le nom Radio Communautaire de Pontiac a été enregistrée en tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif en juin 1978. La première diffusion en ondes a eut lieu le 1er mars 1981.

Litchfield assault identification - SQ ask for public’s help

The Sûreté du Québec is appealing to the public to identify a person regarding an assault that occurred on December 16, 2016 at 5:45 pm in Litchfield. A man in his thirties, about 1.75 meters tall and weighing 90kg, went to a Bank street residence, spoke with the victim before punching his face and running away.

At the time, the suspect was wearing a pale “quilted” coat, dark pants with a tuque.

Bill 132; New law on wetland and water conservation

André Fortin, Member of National Assembly for Pontiac, released a press release saying he was pleased to have been among the members of the National Assembly on June 16 to unanimously pass Bill 132, by which the Government of Québec took the leadership role in Canada for the protection of wetlands, lakes and rivers. A news release states that this bill makes Quebec the only legislation in Canada to have a law that not only provides a legal protection status for wetlands and water ways but enshrines it in a “zero net loss” framework.

The release argues that the new Wetlands and Water Conservation Act introduces a new, modern, clear, predictable and optimized regiment to conserve wetlands and lakes and rivers. It will allow André Fortin to reduce delays and streamline the project authorization processes, taking into account the environmental risks they pose.

$ 15,000 to be divided among MNA André Fortin office employees during floods

An article in the Le Devoir Newspaper published on July 2, reviled that employees of MNA’s will receive bonus compensation for responding to and assisting residence during the spring floods.

This is a decision of the Bureau of the National Assembly for 19 constituencies where the staff of the offices of deputies received additional remuneration for their additional hours of work. The National Assembly will provided $ 85,000 overtime pay for constituency office staff.

One of the biggest amount was the office of the Liberal member for Pontiac, André Fortin, in the amount of $ 14,800.

The office of Liberal MNA Marc Carrière of Chapleau, still in the Outaouais, got the second highest amount with 10,900.

More than $ 8,000 fine for l’Association de chasse et pêche Mon chez nous Inc violation of the Environment Quality Act and Drinking Water Quality Regulation

In a press release issued on June 28, the Ministry of Sustainable Development of the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change indicated that Mon chez nous Inc. Fort-Coulonge, $ 8,000 for violating the Environmental Quality Act and the Drinking Water Quality Regulation.

In 2011, the company did not installed signage for non-drinking water visible to visitors. They also did not collect water sample for personal hygiene every month to count the Escherichia coli bacteria. Finally, they operated a campsite that was not serviced by a water system and a sewer system authorized by the Department. Mon chez nous Inc. was convicted of these charges in October 2016.

Mon chez nous Inc. has rectified the situation and has since fulfilled the various conditions.
