Radio CHIPFM 101.9

CHIP possède une licence de langue française au CRTC et assure par son mandat la promotion de la dualité linguistique au sein du territoire du Pontiac ainsi que celle de la vallée de la Gatineau et du comté de Renfrew, en Ontario.

La station de radio diffuse sur la fréquence du 101,9 sur la bande FM avec un émetteur d’une puissance de 10 KW, lui permettant de diffuser sur un grand territoire.

Afin de servir tous les gens de sa communauté, CHIP FM offre à ses auditeurs, une programmation diversifiée. L’un des buts principaux de la station est de bien informer la communauté avec des nouvelles locales et régionales qui ne sont pas nécessairement diffusées par d’autres médias régionaux. L’équipe entière de la station de radio travaille ardemment afin de faire de sa programmation, une qui reflète bien le portrait culturel, économique, politique, éducationnel et social de sa région”

En tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif, les revenus annuels de CHIP FM sont constitués; d’une subvention provenant du gouvernant provincial, des bingos hebdomadaires, radiothon annuel, ventre de publicités radio, frais d’adhésions ainsi que dons.

CHIP FM aussi connut sous le nom Radio Communautaire de Pontiac a été enregistrée en tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif en juin 1978. La première diffusion en ondes a eut lieu le 1er mars 1981.

The Sûreté du Québec is appealing to the public to identify a person regarding an assault that occurred on December 16, 2016 at 5:45 pm in Litchfield. A man in his thirties, about 1.75 meters tall and weighing 90kg, went to a Bank street residence, spoke with the victim before punching his face and running away.

At the time, the suspect was wearing a pale “quilted” coat, dark pants with a tuque.

Allumettes Island candidates receive threats

According to information gathered by CHIP 101.9, candidates of the November 5th municipal elections on Allumettes Island have been the targets of threats recently. The threats made by telephone were received shortly before the end of the submission of applications to be candidates from 2 to 6 of October.

Potential candidates received telephone messages advising them to withdraw their applications and that repercussions could arise if they did not.

According to the details obtained, at least two candidates have been the target of such threats. We do not know the motives behind the threats or the names of the affected candidates who did not want to reveal their identity at the moment. This information has been validated by various sources contacted by CHIP 101.9.

Allumettes Island sees 7 positions being contested within the municipal council during this election.

CISSSO public information session review

The Board of Directors of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO) held a public information session last Thursday as part of their annual regional tour. A forum that allowed the public to meet with the council on subjects that concern them. Jean Hébert, President and director general says that what they would like to see is more specialist in our area;

Gilles Beaulieu will try to be re-elected in Fort-Coulonge

In Fort-Coulonge, Councillor Gilles Beaulieu is trying to be re-elected. Last winter Mr. Beaulieu celebrated his 31st year as councillor.

In an interview with CHIP 101.9, Mr. Beaulieu explained why he reapply for councillor 1 in Fort-Coulonge and said that with a new mayor, he will have another opportunity to share his ideas:

Mona Donnelly elected by acclamation to Grand-Calumet Island

Another councillor is on the list of people who have been elected by acclamation, this time Mona Donnelly will be the councillor for seat number 3 on Grand-Calumet Island.

Candidate Marc Masseau withdrew his candidacy in the days following the end of nominations on October 6th.

For Grand-Calumet Island, only two positions were elected by acclamation, elections will be held for the other 5 positions.
