The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais clarified its data concerning COVID-19 across the region, attesting that there are less than 5 cases located in the MRC Pontiac.

Warden Jane Toller was also able to confirm the information, reminding residents of the importance of applying preventive measures.

The regional assessment of positive cases of COVID-19 now stands at 75, 66 of which are in Gatineau. In the MRC de Papineau, 6 cases have been confirmed, which shares the three remaining cases in the MRCs of Pontiac and Des-Collines-de-l’Outaouais.

A Web page, which contains all regional data available, has been set up on the establishment’s website and will be updated no later than 3p.m. daily.

A COVID-19 assessment clinic by appointment only will be open at 104 rue du Barry in Gatineau. This clinic will welcome people of all ages who present with flu-like symptoms or gastroenteritis, as well as clients with symptoms of COVID-19 or who have received confirmation of the virus and who need to see a doctor. According to the CISSS de l’Outaouais, the objective of this clinic is to limit the number of emergency patients in the region. COVID-19 screening tests can also be performed on site in accordance with the criterias currently in place. The clinic will be able to accommodate 144 people a day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., by appointment only, by calling 819-644-4545 or the toll-free number 1-877-644-4545.

The Government of Quebec also announced this afternoon a review of the prioritization of screenings, as now community transmission generates the most cases of COVID-19 in the province. From now on, the procedures will be refocused for those most at risk of being hospitalized or developing complications following infection and those who occupy strategic functions in the fight against infection in Quebec. According to the Ministry of Health, this new approach will allow better clinical decisions and a more representative epidemiological portrait of the real needs of the health and social services network and its patients.
