LHSAO: team changes

LHSAO: team changes

18 July 2018 à 12:00 am

Several changes are currently underway for the Outaouais Senior A hockey league (LHSAO).
The Shawville Pontiacs team, which, due to a lack of interest from local sponsorships, moved its franchise to Low, Quebec, to become the Central Gatineau Voyageurs.

The organizer of the team, Nicolas St-Laurent elaborates.

Nicolas St-Laurent however does not close the door to the possibility of having a team in Shawville in the future. According to him, moving the Shawville team will bring the Pontiac communities closer to the Fort-Coulogne Comets, which is also planning to be renamed the Pontiac Comets.

In addition, Mr. St-Laurent has announced the exit of another league team, the Cardinal Broncos, who will never see the ice, for reasons similar to those of the Shawville team.

The league will officially count eight teams for the start of the season, scheduled for next October.

Fort-Coulonge, Low, Maniwaki and Mont-Laurier teams will make up the Eastern Division, and Cumberland, Maxville, Cornwall and Vaudreuil-Dorion will make up the Eastern Division. The complete interview with Nicolas St-Laurent can be found here
