This position in favor of closing the border between Ontario and Quebec was also expressed by her other colleagues in the Outaouais, including the mayor of Gatineau, Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin. However, Toller said the border could still be opened in some cases. Especially for the community of Rapides-des-Joachims which depends for the most part on services from Ontario.

The temporary border closure between Ontario and Quebec has already been mentioned by Quebec Premier François Legault in recent days, but nothing is conclusive. He argued that closing the access between the Outaouais and Eastern Ontario would however be a challenge.

Note that New Brunswick closed its border in the last hours.
