Radio CHIPFM 101.9

CHIP possède une licence de langue française au CRTC et assure par son mandat la promotion de la dualité linguistique au sein du territoire du Pontiac ainsi que celle de la vallée de la Gatineau et du comté de Renfrew, en Ontario.

La station de radio diffuse sur la fréquence du 101,9 sur la bande FM avec un émetteur d’une puissance de 10 KW, lui permettant de diffuser sur un grand territoire.

Afin de servir tous les gens de sa communauté, CHIP FM offre à ses auditeurs, une programmation diversifiée. L’un des buts principaux de la station est de bien informer la communauté avec des nouvelles locales et régionales qui ne sont pas nécessairement diffusées par d’autres médias régionaux. L’équipe entière de la station de radio travaille ardemment afin de faire de sa programmation, une qui reflète bien le portrait culturel, économique, politique, éducationnel et social de sa région”

En tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif, les revenus annuels de CHIP FM sont constitués; d’une subvention provenant du gouvernant provincial, des bingos hebdomadaires, radiothon annuel, ventre de publicités radio, frais d’adhésions ainsi que dons.

CHIP FM aussi connut sous le nom Radio Communautaire de Pontiac a été enregistrée en tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif en juin 1978. La première diffusion en ondes a eut lieu le 1er mars 1981.

127 people attend English language debate

Last night, 127 people were present for the Equity’s English language warden candidates’ debate. A wide array of topics were discussed.

When addressing municipal amalgamation Linda Davis spoke of the mergers as inevitable:

Residents of the MRC are invited to check their registration on the electoral list

Residents wishing to add, remove or modify information on the list of electorates must go to their local municipal office during the electoral lists review which will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 7 pm to 10 pm and Monday, October 23 from 10 am to 5:30 pm . For residences of Allumettes island and Chichester an additional day is added: Wednesday, October 18 from 8 am to 4 pm.

Fire Prevention Week

This week is Fire Prevention Week which is taking place under the slogan La prévention, c’est bon! C’est dans la cuisine que ça se passe. Prevention is Good! Especially in the kitchen. Bob Le Chef is the spokesperson for the event for a second year in a row and says that 1 in 3 house fires start in the kitchen:

A prevention bit was shot live on Facebook earlier this week as well as other segments on Youtube to help increase awareness.

Having an evacuation plan and putting it into practice with your family is also very important. Checking and changing batteries in smoke detectors save lives every year.

Les mauvaises herbes; First film of the season presented by Phare Ouest

The first feature film presented by Phare Ouest, Les mauvaises herbes, will be presented on October 25 at the école St-Pierre in Fort-Coulonge. One of the organizers, Louis Harvey talks about the film.
