The Pontiac MRC published a public notice yesterday on their website, regarding the illegally waste deposits on Usborne / Picanoc Road in the unorganized territory (TNO) of the MRC. With the notice were photos taken on October 18th.

Two MRC waste management dumpsters were placed there to allow users of the TNO to dispose of their household waste. The problem was that many garbage deposited there was unsorted, which would have led to the closure of the service in the Fall of 2017. According to the environmental coordinator at the MRC Pontiac, Kari Richardson, the consequences of the unsorted Garbage would beworst than the closure:

An agreement was signed between the Municipality of Otter Lake and the MRC Pontiac which currently provides TNO users of townships to deposit their household waste free of charge at the municipal reception site located at 577 Route 301 North.

More details to come on the wastes of the TNO users will be available soon.

For any questions regarding residual materials management in the Pontiac MRC, contact Kari Richardson at 819-648-5689, extension 235.
