High Speed Internet in the Pontiac riding
William Amos announced earlier this week four projects in the riding of Pontiac, which will establish high-speed Internet in 13 communities, one of which Danford Lake.
It is expected that a total of 1,786 households in the Outaouais will have access to broadband Internet service in the region. This project was made possible thanks to investments totaling $ 6,746,328, of which nearly $ 2,000,000 come from both the Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec totaling $ 4,000,000 from both governments.

This investment is a big step forward in narrowing the digital gap, so that every Pontiac resident has access to high-speed Internet. Mr. Amos says he will continue to work to solve digital infrastructure issues in other communities in our region.
In addition, he announced that the Government of Canada is increasing the maximum federal share by 10% for eligible infrastructure projects in communities with fewer than 5,000 residents. This amount therefore goes from 50% to 60% for these projects. According to the Pontiac MP, this increase should help rural communities meet priority infrastructure needs that would normally exceed their funding capacity. It also invites communities to discuss with their mayors and councilors specific projects to target.
