On Saturday, August 26, there will be a ground breaking ceremony in Campbell’s Bay, at the Mural Park. In 2015, the municipality worked with a committee of volunteers to create a sixty-foot-long mural reminiscent of main street in the 1950s. The committee worked to beautify Front Street by highlighting the history of the municipality. At the time of the painting, the municipality bought the vacant neighbouring land in order to give access at all times to the mural. In 2016, the municipality carried out a landscaping plan with the help of a landscape architect. Following a public consultation held on June 29, 2016, the final version of the plan was presented to the community at the Summer Festival on August 27, 2016.

In a statement issued yesterday, the municipality explains that the mural park marks the completion of the first stage of the plan of green spaces to encourage the beautification of Front Street.

The municipality thank the contribution of Tree Canada, the Government of Canada and CN in their support of the tree planting project. The August 26 ceremony will be held at Mural Park, 100 Front Street in Campbell’s Bay from 9:30 am.
