Pontiac Green Party candidate Shaughn McArthur finished his canoe trip 150 km down the Gatineau river on Monday (September 6). Accompanied by Hull-Aylmer candidate Simon Gnocchini-Messier, he spoke about his various platform commitments.

He said that the trip was a good opportunity to visit with constituents and get away from the “noise of the campaign trail.”

McArthur also touched on the Chalk River near surface disposal facility project, which he called “an outrage”, pointing to the vocal opposition to the project from local community groups and experts.

McArthur said that he would be knocking on doors in the final two weeks of the campaign and talking with residents about their needs and concerns.
