Green Party candidate Shaughn McArthur begins his paddle down the Gatineau

31 August 2021 à 12:00 am

Pontiac’s Green Party candidate Shaughn McArthur began his journey down the Gatineau River this Sunday (August 29), starting at Déléage (near Maniwaki). He plans to travel 150 km to the nation’s capital on his “paddle for a livable future” and mentioned in a video posted on his Facebook page that the wind has made his journey more difficult than anticipated.

His journey is set to complete on Monday September 6.

I will travel 150 km to Ottawa – eating all foods produced in the Pontiac. I will make stops along the way to meet with community members and to amplify our collective calls for real action on the issues facing people and the planet. I will also be posting daily vlogs and updates along the way. Other climate justice travelers and members of the media are welcome to join me – whether it’s a stop and meet, a few miles down the river, or more
