Friday night fire destroys farm building in Bristol

13 December 2021 à 12:00 am

A fire tore through a farm building on chemin Aylmer in Bristol on Friday evening, leaving it a total loss.

Bristol Fire Chief Kevin Kluke said that his department received the call for a structure fire at around 11:30 p.m. on December 10. They responded with 13 firefighters in four trucks and called for an additional five firefighters from the Shawville-Clarendon department (standard procedure for structure fires).

When they arrived, the building was fully involved. Kluke said that some of his firefighters could see the flames from several kilometers away.

No one was in the building at the time and crews were on scene putting it out until about 6 a.m. the following morning. The building, which Kluke said looked like an old barn that had been converted into a shop, was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
