Four candidates for the by-election on Grand Calumet Island

The municipality of Île-du-Grand-Calumet has informed its citizens of the candidates for the by-election scheduled for Sunday, July 15. The nomination period closed on 15th June.

Among the 4 candidates, is Irene Nadeau, former mayor who had resigned from the position in June 2016. The other candidates are Mr. Jasmin Lemaire, Mme. Alice Meilleur Pieschke and Mme. Adrienne Turgeon.

The advance voting day has been set for Sunday, July 8 at the Municipal Hall, 8 rue Mgr Martel from 12:00 (noon) to 8:00 pm.

The municipality reminds that to have the right to vote, citizens and taxpayers of the Grand Calumet Island must be registered on the electoral list. The hearings of the office of revision of the list of electors will be held on, Thursday and Friday, June 28 and 29, 2018.

By virtue of the resignation of Councillor Patrice Dumouchel from Seat No. 4. the municipality also specified that the preliminary results of the election will be broadcast the same evening, between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm, after counting the vote. The official result of the vote will be released on Monday, July 16, around 11:30 am at the municipal hall, 8 rue Mgr Martel.
