Foster family-work-study balance: new measures

28 June 2018 à 12:00 am

Two new programs have been put in place by the Québec government to promote family-work-study reconciliation (CFTE), as well as a pilot project to improve the supply of childcare activities for workers and parents and students with atypical schedules.

The Family-Work Workplace Balance Financial Support Program aims to support employers and organizations who wish to adopt good practices to improve the quality of life of workers with family responsibilities. The program will support employers in implementing family-work reconciliation measures. The purpose of the CFTE Financial Support Program is to financially support school boards by providing vocational training and adult education services as well as institutions of higher education for certain educational environments for parent-students. This program will promote the adoption of good practices for the benefit of parents-students and their success in obtaining a diploma or qualification.

The pilot project for non-standard day care is designed to give parents’ new childcare options, in addition to those currently offered by the childcare system. The pilot project, presented today, aims to be implemented on the fall, to support the development of the home-based caretaking.
