Fort-Coulonge remembers Raymond Durocher

20 May 2020 à 12:00 am

The municipality of Fort-Coulonge paid tribute to the former mayor and councilor, Raymond Durocher (1991 to 2017), who died last week at the age of 62.

The current mayor of Fort-Coulonge, Gaston Allard, qualified Raymond Durocher as an accomplished politician, in an interview with CHIP 101.9.

Former Fort-Coulonge city councilor, Benoit Paré, recalled Raymond Durocher’s accomplishments, in particular the establishment of the water treatment plant. Mr. Durocher had notably brought a glass of water to the Minister of Municipal Affairs at the time, Louise Harel, to demonstrate to him the poor quality of the water.

The full interview with Benoit Paré is available here.

Please note that given the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Durocher’s funeral will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can result in a donation to the CLSC Pontiac Foundation.
