The MRC Pontiac Youth Council held their first official meeting Monday night in Elsie Gibbons room at the MRC Pontiac, in the presence of the Warden Jane Toller. In interview to CHIP 101.9 she gave more details of the meeting.

The students also made the decision to meet every two weeks rather than every month, making their next meeting on March 11th.

20 students rather than 18 in the Council
Following the reports made by CHIP concerning the misunderstanding that occurred in the organization of the Youth Council at the beginning of the month, where the MRC Pontiac accidentally substituted the student chosen by the municipality of Campbell’s Bay for another. The Warden Jane Toller confirmed that the MRC has implemented a solution to the issue which is to include all parties involved. A similar situation also occurred in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes. To remedy the situation, the MRC Pontiac once again opted to include the second student as part of the youth council. Currently the youth council haves a total of twenty students instead of the initial eighteen, representing each of there respectable municipalities.

The complete interview with Jane Toller is available here.
