Fight against drugs and alcohol at the wheel: mid-campaign report

The Sûreté du Québec published their mid-campaign report as part of the « Tous unis contre l’alcool et la drogue au volant » / “All United against drugs and alcohol at the wheel” operation. For the Outaouais-Laurentides region, 60 arrests were conducted for impaired driving and 3 reports were issued for non-compliance with the zero alcohol level. Since November 29th, police officers of the Sûreté du Québec have participated in 1,265 police operations targeting the ability to drive impaired by alcohol, drugs or a combination of both.

In Quebec :
• 360 people arrested for impaired driving by drugs or alcohol;
• 59 drivers received an offense for exceeding the zero tolerance limit;
• 469 drivers provided a breath test for the approved detection device;
• 31 drivers were subjected to a movement coordination test.

The provincial Campaign to fight against driving under the influence of alcoohol will continue during the holiday season, until January 3rd, 2019.
