Fatal accident in the municipality of Pontiac

A fatal accident occurred last night at about 10:00 pm on Highway 148 in the municipality of Pontiac, near the intersection of Maple Road. The impact occurred between a car traveling westward and a heavy duty maintenance truck from Hydro Quebec, which was traveling eastward. The driver of the car died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Hydro Quebec truck was not injured. The road has been closed, to allow the police to determine the causes and circumstances of this collision.

The identity of the male victim will not be disclosed at this time, to allow the police to notify the immediate family.
