Council of the MRC Pontiac last night

Yesterday evening the MRC Pontiac held its meeting of the Mayors for the month of June. Before opening the meeting, Gordon Gibbons, son of the first woman elected as the mayor of a municipality in Quebec, whose namesake was used for the room where the monthly meetings are held, presented a picture containing his mother’s portrait to the MRC to be display in the room.

A dozen people from the public attended this meeting, four of who asked question during the public question period.

Several presentations were given, including a description of the programs offered by the Société d’habitation du Québec, a report of activities by Jérémi Vaillancourt, marketing coordinator at the MRC Pontiac, an enumeration of activities organized by the Friends of the PPJ during the summer season, as well as a partnership proposal from the Pontiac Tourism Association with the MRC.

The mayors will not meet in July. Sessions will resume next August.
