Closure of ESSC until June 21

8 June 2021 à 12:00 am

Sieur-de-Coulonge High School (ESSC) will be closed until June 21, due to a community outbreak of COVID-19 that has affected several classes. The Director General of the Centre de services scolaire des Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais (CSSHBO) Denis Rossignol made the announcement today.

From now, June 8, until June 21, there will be closure due to an outbreak in ESSC due to community contamination of the virus. We are not looking for the culprit, but the important thing is that we ensure the safety of everyone, students and families. The people targeted are people from the school who are in isolation, but automatically, the family is also in isolation and the child must go to be tested.
– Denis Rossignol

This decision was taken with the recommendations of the public health of the Outouais. Classes will now be virtual.

We did everything to avoid that, but we had no choice, there were already three groups affected and buses.
– Mr. Rossignol

Tomorrow morning, some students will have to go get tested directly at school. Screening will be based on gargle tests.

We ask for everyone’s collaboration, it’s the last stretch of the year, it’s not easy, but we’re going to work hard together, in community, to get by
– Denis Rossignol

Denis Rossignol will be a guest on CHIP 101.9 tomorrow around 7:15am.
