Clarification for Parents regarding School

28 August 2020 à 12:00 am

As schools across the province begin welcoming students, the Western Quebec School Board (WQSB) is continuing to inform parents regarding the new COVID-19 prevention regulations.

According to Mike Dubeau, the Director General of the WQSB, various documents and updates were provided to parents in attempts to clarify information regarding the reopening. Nonetheless, many parents have recently voiced their concerns over the measures tabled by the Ontario Government. However as explained by Dubeau, the measures for Québec schools differ greatly from that of Ontario.

In addition, last week, the principals, vice-principals and administrators of the WQSB met to revise and collectively understand the procedures in regards to information, social distancing, sanitation and safety for the upcoming school year.

Schools began progressively reopening today, notably in the Pontiac (Schools we were able to confirm)

  • DR S. E. McDowell’s Elementary school,
  • St-John’s Elementary school

More details on the procedures for reopening schools can be heard in the full interview with Mike Dubeau here.
