CHIP possède une licence de langue française au CRTC et assure par son mandat la promotion de la dualité linguistique au sein du territoire du Pontiac ainsi que celle de la vallée de la Gatineau et du comté de Renfrew, en Ontario.

La station de radio diffuse sur la fréquence du 101,9 sur la bande FM avec un émetteur d’une puissance de 10 KW, lui permettant de diffuser sur un grand territoire.

Afin de servir tous les gens de sa communauté, CHIP FM offre à ses auditeurs, une programmation diversifiée. L’un des buts principaux de la station est de bien informer la communauté avec des nouvelles locales et régionales qui ne sont pas nécessairement diffusées par d’autres médias régionaux. L’équipe entière de la station de radio travaille ardemment afin de faire de sa programmation, une qui reflète bien le portrait culturel, économique, politique, éducationnel et social de sa région”

En tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif, les revenus annuels de CHIP FM sont constitués; d’une subvention provenant du gouvernant provincial, des bingos hebdomadaires, radiothon annuel, ventre de publicités radio, frais d’adhésions ainsi que dons.

CHIP FM aussi connut sous le nom Radio Communautaire de Pontiac a été enregistrée en tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif en juin 1978. La première diffusion en ondes a eut lieu le 1er mars 1981.

With only a week to apply to become a candidate, in view of the municipal elections on 5 November. CHIP 101,9 offers you an overview of the candidates.

In Fort-Coulonge, the first candidate to submitted his candidacy for mayor is Gaston Allard. He had questioned the municipal management when awarding the contract for the collection of waste in 2015. Since the late 1960s, their have been only 2 people who have held the position of mayor Hector Soucie and Raymond Durocher who combined held the position for nearly 50 years in Fort-Coulonge. An election will also be held for the councilor number 1 spot, Outgoing councilor Gilles Beaulieu will face Christine Francœur.

To date, in the municipality of Mansfield, three candidates contesting the office of mayor , namely Katlheen Bélec, Terry Lévesque and Gilles Dionne, we can already confirm that 4 councilors will be in office. It should also be noted that former Mayor Leslie Bélair applied for a seat on Council.

On Alumettes Island, it’s also a three-way race. Outgoing Mayor Winston Sunstrum will face off against local businessman Kevin Vickers and Geniviève O’Brien.

in Campbell’s Bay, Councilor Maurice Beauregard has applied for the position of mayor, up to now he is the only mayoral candidate.

In Litchfield, Outgoing Mayor Colleen Larriviere will face, Brian Corriveau has submitted has candidac.

in Otter Lake, outgoing Mayor Kim Cartier-Villeneuve has applied for another term.

In Chichester, outgoing mayor Donald Gagnon has already formalized his candidacy.

In Thorne, the outgoing mayor Terry Murdoch also formalized his candidacy.

The Canadian Bristol Dryland Dog Race Championship will be held on October 28 and 29

In less than two weeks the Bristol Dryland Canadian Dog Race Championship will be held on the 28 and 29 of October. During an episode of Ces gens d’ici, CHIP discussed the preparations with the organizer of this project and owner of Bristol Dryland, Denis Rozon:

CAA-Quebec educates seniors on good driving habits

Over the next 10 years, there will be more than 1.5 million seniors on Québec roads, and while good driving habits is not determined by age, navigating the roads can be a challenge in itself.

The CAA-Quebec Foundation will be touring about 20 places across the province in the near future to promote awareness of what constitutes good driving on our roads. Annie Gauthier from CAA-Quebec says that the mix of Quebec Road conditions with a greater number of seniors on the roads create more accidents:

Seniors have more collisions per kilometer traveled with the number of vehicular related deaths increasing among those aged 55 and over. According to studies, the ability to drive decreases from the age 45 years onwards. Annie Gauthier says that the statistics are rather disturbing:

127 people attend English language debate

Last night, 127 people were present for the Equity’s English language warden candidates’ debate. A wide array of topics were discussed.

When addressing municipal amalgamation Linda Davis spoke of the mergers as inevitable:

Residents of the MRC are invited to check their registration on the electoral list

Residents wishing to add, remove or modify information on the list of electorates must go to their local municipal office during the electoral lists review which will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 7 pm to 10 pm and Monday, October 23 from 10 am to 5:30 pm . For residences of Allumettes island and Chichester an additional day is added: Wednesday, October 18 from 8 am to 4 pm.
