The Oktoberfest Ladysmith in the Municipality of Thorne, which was scheduled to take place in the Fall, has been cancelled. The event was to celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2020.

According to a press release, the decision to cancel was motivated by the COVID-19 crisis.

Last week, the Quebec government asked that all public events that were set to take place during the summer (until August 31st) be canceled, except for sporting events. The Oktoberfest in Ladysmith was however scheduled for October 2-4, but the organizers decided not to take any risks for the safety of its visitors.

The next Oktoberfest at Ladysmith is scheduled for October 1-3 in 2021, and is expected to mark the 35th edition of the event.
