In preparation for the 2019 federal election campaign, Maxime Bernier’s party, the People’s Party of Canada, has named Mario Belec as the Parti’s first candidate to represent the Pontiac for the upcoming elections in October. However, Belec is not new to politics as he was the Candidate for the Conservative Party of Quebec for the riding of Gatineau during last year’s provincial elections. In an interview with CHIP 101.9, he explained the reasons for getting involved with People’s Party of Canada.

Mario Belec also talked about the different issues that he will be tackling during his election campaign.

Note that up until now the Candidates here in the Pontiac are: the Liberals with incumbent MP William Amos, the Conservatives with Dave Blackburn, the NDP with Denise Giroux and the Green Party with Claude Bertrand. Note that the candidate for the Parti Québécois in Pontiac in 2012 during the provincial election, Geneviève Nadeau, has once again been appointed as candidate for the Bloc Québécois this time in the riding of Gatineau.
