An employee and three users from the Pierre-Janet hospital center in Gatineau were declared positive for COVID-19 at the start of the week.

Josée Filion, president and chief executive officer of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, said that this new outbreak occurred on one floor of the facility in particular.

The other results received from the screening carried out at the beginning of the week are negative, according to the Filion.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais also ensures that relatives of hospital users have been informed of the situation and that a team from the health network will monitor the situation in the coming days.

To date, 609 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Outaouais since the start of the pandemic. Of these, 84 cases are still active. No case has been listed in the MRC Pontiac.
