Budget: André Fortin criticizes the Quebec government for its lack of anticipation

The MNA for Pontiac André Fortin believes that the adoption of the Quebec government’s 2020-2021 budget, tabled in the National Assembly Tuesday, should have been postponed by a few weeks due to the economic impact of COVID-19 on the provincial economy. He criticized in particular the lack of anticipation by the Minister of Finance, Eric Girard.

While welcoming some of the investments planned by the Legault government in 2020-2021, Fortin stressed that the MRC Pontiac’s request to obtain additional funding to provide better wages for nurses in Outaouais was “ignored” in the budget.

André Fortin’s view on the 2020-21 budget is that it will need to be revised to avoid a deficit caused by the current pandemic (COVID-19).
