Bristol Mines release debut EP: Easy Target

8 November 2021 à 12:00 am

A new musical duo named after a Pontiac landmark released their first EP on Friday (November 5).

Bristol Mines, made up of Burke Johnson and Isaac Baronikian, dropped their debut project entitled Easy Target on November 5, and it’s now available on Spotify and Apple Music.

The pair met while studying audio engineering in Ottawa and after making some music, found that they collaborated well together. Having spent his summers in Norway Bay, Johnson said that the band’s name was an homage to the local landmark. He said that the mines have a nostalgic place in his heart, as a place where he and his friends would go to get away from their parents.

Their debut project is a 5-track EP that Johnson said is partly made up of songs that he had previously written as acoustic guitar pieces. While some of it was recorded in Johnson’s home studio, he said that when they were recording at the professional studio at school, they ran into an old classmate who wound up recording the drums for the project.

He said that he would definitely be interested in a live performance at a venue in the Pontiac in the future.

The full interview with Johnson is available here.
