Last Saturday at the Quyon Elementary School in the Municipality of Pontiac, the Pontiac MLA and Transport Minister André Fortin is confirmed to officially represent the Liberals in the riding of Pontiac for the October elections.

Several key players within the Quebec Liberals and the region have praised the qualities found in André Fortin, often seen as one of the emerging faces of the party. This praise has come from notably the Finance Minister Carlos Leitao and Jean-Marc Fournier, as well as, by video, Premier Philippe Couillard and Federal MPs Will Amos and Greg Fergus.

Several local personalities were also at the event, such as the Warden Jane Toller, the president of the Western Quebec School Board James Shea and more than a dozen mayors and councilors from the region.

André Fortin also spoke about the changes that have occurred in the riding between now and 4 years ago.

Among the Liberal Party’s contributions to the Pontiac riding , André Fortin spoke of the repairs of the Félix-Gabriel Marchand Bridge, the establishment of a tactical intervention group to foster economic development and projects in the fields of healthcare, heritage and the economy.
